This spacious, airy glass home is situated on a serene three-acre property that overlooks the majestic Delaware River in the Catskill and Pocono Mountains. Decorated in a sleek mid-century modern style, it's perfect for those looking for a special experience where the serene and stylized meet.

The riverfront house is located within nationally protected land, the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River. Without ever leaving the property, you are immersed in nature, listening to the rippling river, the rustling of the trees and the sounds of chirping birds. It is offers the best of each season: golden trees in the fall, snow-covered hills in the winter, flowers and vibrant green leaves in the spring, and a forested retreat in the summer.

For those seeking outdoor adventure, the options are endless. In the sumner, there is canoeing, kayaking, Delaware River rafting, and more. Hiking trail options are endless too, ranging from slow and steady walks to intense day-long mountain hikes. Winter activities are stellar too. There’s skiing, snowboarding, sledding, snowshoeing, hiking, snow tubing, ice skating, and more all right nearby.

But of course, a trip to the Upper Delaware is not complete without venturing to some of the charming towns nearby. Take in mountain views with a glass of fresh sparkling apple cider (with or without alcohol) at the solar-panel clabbered cidery. Enjoy a premium local whiskey at the Catskills Provisions Distillery in town, perfect for some cheers and people-watching.

The space

Enter the home’s large foyer and make your way to the grand open concept living space with soaring ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass front and back, and comfortable seating. Along the wall of glass with panoramic views of the river, enjoy your meal at the original mid-century rosewood dining table.

Prepare your meals and drinks in the open modern kitchen equipped entirely with professional Thermador appliances including a large refrigerator and separate large freezer, an excellent induction cooktop, double wall oven, and dishwasher. There's also a kettle charcoal grill outside for guests' use.

After dinner, retire to one of the three large quiet bedrooms: a bedroom suite with a king sized bed and en suite bath with shower, a second bedroom with a king sized bed, and a third bedroom with a queen sized bed. All bedrooms have ample storage space in large bureaus.

The bathrooms are outfitted with contemporary fixtures, finishings, and hardware. In addition to the two showers, there is a spa-like free-standing soaking tub perfect for a relaxing bath.

From any of the rooms, step outside into the peaceful backyard and be surrounded by tall trees. It is outdoor living at its finest. Enjoy your book from the comfortable outdoor chairs and meals at the table that can comfortably seat six. If you can take your eyes off the sparkling river, you may also see the bald eagle that nests along the river.

Amenities

This luxurious retreat comes with complimentary fitness equipment. The professional Cybex elliptical trainer and bicycle are available for guests’ use.

There is also high speed Wi-Fi that seamlessly supports streaming and work from home video calling (haven’t found a better Zoom background than the one from this house). The Smart TVs enable direct login access to guests’ own Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Max, and other streaming services.

There are large and high-efficiency front loading washer and dryer.

Other things to note

Given the house's very private location and wonderful openness to the outdoors, the bedrooms' and living areas' floor-to-ceiling windows do not have window coverings to enhance the indoor/outdoor feel of living in the house. Both baths do have window coverings that may be closed or open depending on preference.

The house has spectacular views of the river, trees & wildlife. The home was spotless and had many designer pieces/art and even pottery.

The town of Callicoon was minutes away and had a nice grocery store with everything we needed in one place.

We were provided a fantastic Welcome packet with recommendations for restaurants and activities and clear instructions for the house.

One of my favorite things was the Sunday Farmers Market in Callicoon!

Perfect autumn retreat! We all said we would love to come back to the house.

This place was perfect!!! Took our 3 yr old and baby and this place was the best- Charles was always available and very helpful… the home absolutely everything you could need… it was home away from home… had necessities u wouldn’t even think of! … you have everything in the kitchen you could need. All the reviews were right this place is the best. Would def try to come back. Your close to a little spot that you can have the kids swim in the river and go kayaking or just to relax- 5 min away from the supermarket and some other places.

Charles's "Modern Glass Riverfront Home" is a lovely spacious home perfect for a secluded getaway to attractions in Sullivan County NY or Wayne County PA. The back yard of this home is full of trees with chairs and tables that overlook the Deleware River at the bottom of the hill below. This home is a great value and the host was very responsive to my questions and needs.

Waking up to the sunrise over the Delaware River each morning was beautiful. Only made better by the radiant heat cement floors. My girlfriend and I had a great time exploring the area. The town of Callicoon, only five minutes down the road, is full of great folks, food and fun.

What a beautiful home! The views were incredible and the house was very well set up. We loved the glass walls and the heated floors as well as the large open kitchen space. The wifi was also very stable, which allowed us to work remotely without a problem. We also loved seeing deer, turkeys, and cats run around the property - it was such a nice break from the city and the peace and quiet of the place was unbelievable. Would highly recommend and cannot wait to return! Truly is a dream house.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed the peaceful and calm atmosphere of the place and surrounding. The glass windows throughout really help transport us away from the busy city life. Oh and the heated floors that was a bonus! We spent 3 nights during Thanksgiving there, cooked a roast and had the most peaceful Thanksgiving ever. The place was exactly as the pictures and description. Charles is the best host yet, he immediately makes you feel like an old friend and was very responsive. Thank you!

The house is amazing, equipped with everything that you need and more for a relaxing vacation. Nearby you can find grocery stores, restaurants, and a bakery. Charles is a great host. It was very easy to reach him when we had some questions. His suggestions about the area were very useful.

Charles’s Glass House is a jewel box, surrounded by lush woods and a pristine Delaware River view, yet five minutes from charming downtown Callicoon, NY. The house itself is so comfortable, with plenty of seating and gathering space both indoors and out. Mornings were my favorite time, waking up gently to the summer sun and view to the river below. The home is well appointed and everything is labeled. Linens and bedding were of superior quality. Just overall an upscale and homey experience...
The host/homeowner was very responsive and accommodating, and has a wealth of knowledge to share. It was lovely to chat with him and share in his passion for the area!
There are plenty of restaurants, groceries, and even gourmet foodstuffs close by. Pretty much a country experience with city comforts! Wifi also worked great.

We really enjoyed our stay at Charles' place. It's a great spot to unplug along a quiet, wooded road and enjoy a few days watching the river and the local wildlife through an abundance of windows - there's a bald eagle nested off the back of the house, and families of deer came through often, for starters. The big kitchen was nice to cook in, and Charles was easy to reach, especially when we encountered a maintenance issue on our arrival (it was cleared up by the next day, thanks Charles). Would recommend and would come back.

I was looking at moon, gorgeous river and trees while sleeping on the bed. Needed this type of break and got it.
